Day 01 : ARRIVE BAGDOGRA / NEW JALPAIGURI

Welcome to your 'Eastern Himalayan Delight' tour! On arrival at airport in Bagdogra / railway station in New Jalpaiguri, you will be transferred to Pelling, where on arrival you will check into your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 02 : PELLING

This morning, proceed on a half day city tour of Pelling. Visit Rimbi water Falls, and Kechopalri Lake,.Kechopalri Lake is one of the holiest Buddhist lakes and it is believed that any wish made in front of the lake comes true. Myth is that when a leaf falls on the placid clear water surface, it is picked by a bird and thus the water surface is always free of leaves. Also visit Kechopalri Monastery, Kanchenjunga water Falls, Pemayangtse Monastery and Rabdantse ruins. The scenic view from the top of the ruins to the mystic heights of Kanchendzonga ranges is something to be cherished. Return to the hotel in the afternoon. The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.

Day 03 : ON TO GANGTOK (124 KMS / APPROX. 5 HOUR DRIVE)

Today, proceed on a picturesque drive to Gangtok. En route, visit Ravangla - a small township in southern Sikkim. On arrival in Gangtok, check-in to your hotel. Ravangla, a small town situated in South Sikkim, surrounded by high-forested hills, undulating valleys dotted with village huts. Ravangla offers breath taking views of Kangchenjunga along with its sister peaks of Pandim, Kabru, Sinialchu and many others. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 04 : GANGTOK - EXCURSION TO TSHANGU LAKE

Early in the morning, depart for a half-day excursion to Tshangu Lake (one has to obtain a permit directly in Gangtok to visit Tshangu Lake). With an average depth of 50 ft. the cool water of the lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. The lake freezes completely during the winter and is much revered by the locals. Enjoy a Yak ride around this lake on your own. The rest of the day is at leisure to shop around the Tibetan Market.

Day 05 : GANGTOK

This morning, proceed on a city tour visiting Do Drul Chorten and the Enchey Monastery. The Do Drul Chorten has ving sacred gold-topped shikhara with 108 prayer wheels and view the marvellous collection of orchids in the Flower Show, which has more than 200 varieties of orchids (which bloom in April - May). One can see young lamas working, learning and worshiping at Chorten. Later, proceed to Enchey Ancient Monastery, which is more than 200 years old and provides the best views of the mountain range of Kanchenjunga. Also visit Rumtek monastery which exhibits Tibetan monastic art in Sikkim known for its unique traditional architecture, beautifully carved and painted woodwork and splendid murals. The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.

Day 06: ON TO KALIMPONG (85 KMS / APPROX 3 HOUR DRIVE)

In the morning, drive to Kalimpong a pretty hill station with the majestic Himalayas in the background and gently rolling hills around. On arrival, check -in to your hotel. Enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Kalimpong in the afternoon visiting Dello Hills, Dr. Graham's Homes(Outer view) and the Cactus nurseries. Dello Hill commands an excellent view of the town. With Teesta Valley below and the snowy ranges in the distant horizon, the place is one of the beautiful sites around Kalimpong. The Dr. Graham's Homes is a working orphanage and school which was built in 1900 by Dr JA Graham, a Scottish missionary, to educate the children of tea-estate workers, and now has more than 1300 students. There's a small museum that commemorates the founder and his wife Katherine.
